Chasing Bubbles

We went to a barbeque this afternoon and Gilly had TONS of fun playing with the kids from the neighborhood. It was neat to see her be so independent . . . she took off to play with the other kids without giving us a second thought.

She especially like chasing the bubbles.

Gilly not only cleans the apartment, but will wipe you down with a washcloth if needed (video below), and for no extra charge, she will also pick your nose.

Careful, She's Watching

I suppose kids learn alot by observing their parents, and Gilly has mimicked our behavior for a long time now. Lately though, it seems to be increasing. We have to be really careful about what we say in front of her, lest it pop out of her mouth in the grocery store.

She has seen Lyn and I carrying Simon in his baby carrier, so she wanted to try it on. Admittedly, putting her baby doll in it was our idea, but she was trying to put the carrier on all by herself (we had to help in the end since it's a little complicated).




You can see below that she learned her dining etiquette by watching me. She hasn't yet mastered belching at will, but we're working on it. She thinks gas is funny too. Definitely daddy's girl.

Happy Baby

We're home! We left the hospital yesterday around 4PM. Simon is doing well, but he doesn't sleep nearly as much as Gilly did when she first came home. Gilly has been very good with Simon so far, although she got a little grumpy when we wouldn't let her jump on the bed when Simon was on the bed getting his diaper changed.

Big Sister

Gilly seems ok with Simon, for now. She wasn't very interested in him initially. I imagine that will change when he comes home, and doesn't leave :)

Simon Johnson Schmucker

Born at 8:28PM. No weight yet, but he's a peanut.

"Gilly, Where is Simon?"

She knows there is something in Lyn's belly, and we call it "Simon."

Still Waiting

We've had a few false alarms, but no baby yet. I suggested to Lyn that she could try jumping up and down on Gilly's trampoline, but she wouldn't go for it. We just went for a long walk in the woods for a little distraction. Well, it's actually a short walk, but Gilly likes to stop and inspect all the little rocks, pine cones, and acorns along the way. It adds a little time to the trip.

Gilly had fun tossing pine cones into the stream.
