The Old Man sells out

Ok, this is old but I just stumbled upon it by some random surfing. McDonalds was selling Old Man of the Mountain commemorative cups this past summer? That's just . . . wrong.

Grooming

Turns out there's a dog groomer not far from here. Cannon, aka "Stinky," has an appointment next week. He's too big and we're both too old for another do-it-yourself grooming.

the results of our last attempt: lots of vacuuming

That was only the first brushing. I accumulated several piles of similar size. Never again.

Slashdot | Do-Not-Call List Could Be Opened For Phone Spam

Lovely, thanks FTC. Link

If you're as annoyed as I am by this, be sure to leave feedback with the FTC. Maybe they won't listen, but at least try to be heard.

Frozen Spiderwebs

I was moving some images from our digital camera to the computer and saw a few I'd forgotten about (even though it was only about a week ago . . . is it possible that studying so much is overwriting my short-term memory?). I took Cannon out for his walk one morning and there was a freezing fog. The only other time I'd seen such a thing was on the summit of Mount Washington. The coolest thing was the mist freezing on all the spiderwebs. Ordinarily, most of them are too thin to be seen easily. The light coating of ice really made them stand out . . . unfortunately these images don't do it justice, but they're still pretty neat.

FIRST SNOW!!!!!!!!!

Woohooooo!! I thought I'd lost interest in winters and the associated hassles of cold, slush, hazardous driving and perpetual darkness. I looked out the window this morning, saw our first snow, and I was PSYCHED!!

I had a funny discussion with one of my classmates this morning. This is the first time they had ever seen snow, and I was explaining why you really don't need to use an umbrella when it is snowing. Then I gave a brief tutorial on snowball fights :o)

Here we go . . .

Well, I decided it was time to jump on the bandwagon and start a blog. I'm too busy these days (or too lazy) to put together a website, so this seemed like a simpler alternative.

I need to study and stress out over my next exam now. Much more to come soon . . .
